How to solve Facebook Circular Redirect Path error?

If you use Open Graph protocol in your WordPress website, you might see the Circular Redirect Path error when checking your website at the Facebook Open Graph Debugger tool. The error message is “Circular Redirect Path: Circular redirect path detected (see ‘Redirect Path’ section for details)”.

Facebook Circular Redirect Path error

The Circular Redirect Path error occurs because there is a discrepancy between the og:url and the rel=’canonical’ value in your page. For example:

rel=’canonical’ value: “http://www.yourdomain.com/path/”
og:url value: “http://www.yourdomain.com/path”

To solve this problem, just add a “/” to the end of the og:url meta tag. For example:

<meta property="og:url" content="http://www.yourdomain.com/path" />

will be changed to

<meta property="og:url" content="http://www.yourdomain.com/path/" />

This is the simplest trick to fix the issue at the moment. I hope this will help.
